I have removed watch band pins before, using a small punch and a hammer, so I had an idea of what I was doing. I decided to risk this purchase even though other reviewers had bad luck with this tool.
The tool worked fine for me. If care is taken to push the pin out in the correct direction, line up everything carefully, work slowly and keep the pin press in alignment as the job progresses, there should be no problem. The pins should press out fairly easily. If the band pin or the pin on the press is binding enough break the tool, something in the procedure is not going correctly. In that case, rethink what you are doing.

I found this device to be very irritating and extremely difficult to use.
One of the changing pins broke on my first use although the manufacturer does include extra pins.
I took my watch to a local TAG Dealer and had them size the watch band for me, as I used to do.
There is no "do it yourself" on this one for me - skip this and just thank you Tag Dealer much for the service!

I bought a new watch at a significant discount at Costco and it was way too big. So, instead of taking it to the jeweler and paying whatever it would have cost to remove a few links, I purchased this tool. I was able to remove three links with relative ease, reassemble the band, and I now have a watch that fits and a tool I can use on subsequent watch purchases. So, my hopes and expectations were clearly met.

If your not working on watches for a living this tool will be just fine. A little flimsy but for the money it does work! Great for adjusting the occasional watch band.

This watch pin remover came with four extra drill bits, and all of them were flimsy and broke within the first half hour of using it. Not to mention that by the time I put the second or third drill bit in the plastic casing on the actual unit cracked. I would not recommend this product.
